Who I Am
I’m a final-year Information Technology student at Monash University. Throughout my studies, I’ve worked in team-based projects where I learned how to design, build and secure IT systems using industry best practices. Alongside this, I’ve built personal projects to apply the theory I’ve learned in a more hands-on way and learn best practices used in industry.
I’ve always been curious about how technology shapes everyday life. Growing up alongside the rapid growth of tech drew me toward IT - seeing how systems can be designed to deliver simple, fast and secure user experiences.
Outside of study, I’m someone who enjoys continuous learning and self-improvement. I’m naturally curious and like challenging myself to learn new technologies, revisit concepts and improve how I think about building systems.
My Technical Approach
In both university and personal projects, I follow a systems-oriented approach influenced by the system development life cycle and agile principles.
Architecture: I prioritise high cohesion and loose coupling at both system and code level:
- Break systems into modular services with clear responsibilities
- Use Docker to isolate and manage services
- Integrate external services via APIs where appropriate
- Write modular, maintainable code that can scale or be replaced easily
- Keep code clean, structured, and readable
Agile: I focus on iterative development and collaboration:
- Regular feedback cycles to validate progress and adapt early
- Use SCRUM practices (Kanban boards, stand-ups, and tracking tools)
- Build in small increments, prioritising core functionality while maintaining clean version control (Git-based workflows)
Beyond the Code
Outside of tech, I stay grounded through a few simple routines. The gym is my daily reset - a chance to push myself physically and clear my mind. I also enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors, my favourite trails include Mt Kosciuszko and Sugarloaf Peak.
I have two dogs (a Beaglier and a Japanese Spitz) that I love walking - the older one is 16, so sometimes its a slower pace, but I enjoy those walks just as much.
I also love travelling and experiencing new cultures. I’ve been fortunate to visit Japan, parts of Europe and the UK, where I enjoy exploring local culture, trying new foods and learning about history. My recent trip to Japan stands out as my favourite - the mix of traditional temples, relaxing onsens and vibrant cities made it especially memorable.
